Habits vs. Restrictions- Learning to balance nutrition as a lifestyle!

I want to talk for a minute about RESTRICTION.

Many of you know I believe our body needs all 3 macros: Fats, Proteins, and Carbs for FUEL. As I walk beside people who have certain goals, I realize that there is a lot of fear, confusion, and next "fad" that we are buying into. In my opinion I see too many people trying to "trick" their body instead of working with their body. I never coach people to try and "trick" their body with certain eating patterns- NOW yes some may loose weight by doing this- personally I don't think that is a lifestyle and it falls into the category of a "diet". I hear it all the time and I am sure you do too, people are terrified of carbs. We shouldn't be. Some carbs have more nutritional value then othersvand absolutely we do not want to overindulge in them......but CARBS alone are not bad!

  • It's important for us to think of FOOD = FUEL
  • We do NOT want to deprive our bodies of nutrients that we need
  • Supplementation fills in the nutritional gaps that we ALL have - (the average persons food is not as nutrient dense as you think)
  • TIMING is huge in fueling our body properly throughout the day
  • I am a HUGE fan of living the 80/20 rule and enjoying life :-)
